Parrots have a reputation as lively birds which you can have perching on your shoulder (and to complete the outfit, why not wear a tricorn hat with a feather, and an eyepatch). But seriously, these wonderful animals are low-maintenance in that manner. However, just to make sure they don’t do any damage to your place, or to keep them from soiling your floor, it would be better to keep your pet bird in a cage.
A parrot cage is a bit larger than your normal bird cage. This will allow your pet to waddle around, bobbing along as it goes round it’s cage. Preferably, the cage should have a perch or a swing. That would keep the bird entertained and playing on its own. Even for a well-trained bird, a parrot cage would come in handy when you really have to leave the house on an errand or a short trip to the mall. Keeping your parrot cage can be something enjoyable for it, with the right sized cage.
